Residential Extended Care and Sober Living for Young Men

The question in the minds of many young men who are completing a “28 day” drug rehab program is “What’s next? Where do I go from here?”  And while the idea of returning to a college dorm, moving back with mom and dad, or transitioning to a traditional “sober living house” might seem like the logical next step, these environments typically cannot provide the level of service, structure, and support that most young men need in order to develop a sustainable sober lifestyle.

Turning Point is a nationally recognized residential extended care and sober living program located on the outskirts of New Haven, CT.  We offer a three-phase program of reintegration for young men who have recently completed primary treatment for alcohol or chemical dependency and could benefit from a  supportive, structured, and sober living environment that expects success in sobriety, academics and life.

With seven facilities, over forty staff members, an integrated intensive outpatient program (IOP), and a firm foundation in the 12-Steps, our three phase “step down” approach toward independent living is designed to reintegrate young men into a drug-free world gradually as they build strong recovery skills around self, family and community and take those skills into life after Turning Point.

Aligning Sober Living with Integrated Treatment Services for Industry Leading Outcomes

Our success stems from a highly effective care model that combines graduated sober living with a continuation of addiction treatment services. It’s a model that merges a decade of experience working with young men and numerous studies that have conclusively demonstrated that the longer an individual is engaged in some form of treatment, the better the outcome.

During a resident’s first few weeks of sober living at Turning Point, he will participate in a comprehensive intensive outpatient treatment program (IOP) three days a week. Designed by experienced clinicians and clinical researchers, our recovery-oriented education groups are tailored for the young man who has recently completed primary drug treatment and is preparing to reintegrate back into life.

For Turning Point residents who have co-occurring diagnoses such as mood and anxiety disorders, we offer a comprehensive therapeutic clinical track that builds on the gains made in primary treatment and focuses on long-term mental health and well being for the individual and his family.

A multi-disciplinary team of passionate and highly accomplished clinicians provide medication management, psychiatric services, including assessments and evaluations, and individual, family and group therapies designed specifically to meet the needs of our dually diagnosed population.

It’s time to live your life.
